Interesting place but terrible guides. I had a really negative experience with this company. I want to say first everything you read about chornobyl is true - it is a really fascinating place. However the guides we had for this tour are some of the worst I have ever had.

Here are the problems 1. They began the tour giving a huge amount of information in very bad English. I have lived in this city for 2 years and it was hard even for me. I asked our guide Anya or Ana, I can't remember exactly a question later in the tour.

It turns out that she had "answered" this question about 5 hours before when most people on the bus me included were asleep. She got personally offended that I hadn't remembered and shouted "If you would have listened to me you would know After her outburst, she turns to her colleague and starts talking about me and the other tourists in Russian.

In the Exclusion Zone there is often broken glass on the floor, so it is important to have shoes with sturdy tread.

Take long trousers and long sleeved shirts. July and August tend to be the hottest months so lightweight cotton clothing would be advised. We'd also recommend taking older clothes that can be easily washed or possibly thrown away and avoid clothing with lots of zips or metal poppers. Make sure you have your camera or smartphone to capture some great photos.

Keep a reusable water bottle handy for use outside the Exclusion Zone. This website uses cookies to ensure you get the best experience on our website. Learn more. Tour added to wishlist! Book with confidence. Here is our ultimate guide to Chernobyl and answers to your frequently asked questions.
